Meet the Principal

pictureDale O’Donnell, M.Ed., is from Long Island New York. Her education and career as a Teacher, and Educational Administrator, has taken her on a journey through a host of different learning environments, which each play a pivotal role in her unique perspective in Educational Leadership. Her path led her from the shores of Rockville Center, L.I. to San Francisco, CA, back to the East Coast in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, up to Ticonderoga, New York in the Adirondack Mountains, before heading back cross country to serve on the Sovereign Navajo Nation, ultimately arriving in Creighton School District in Phoenix, Arizona. Her interest in teaching blossomed as a Docent at the San Francisco Museum of Fine Arts and led her through a joyful teaching career across numerous grade levels and content areas. She entered Administration as Director of Instructional Services, continuing on to become Superintendent of Ganado Unified School District, in Northern Arizona.  Dale is now the Principal of the Innovative New Creighton School currently under construction, and nearing completion, on McDowell Rd., just 4 miles from downtown Phoenix. This flagship school will showcase Dual Language, Constructivist, Multi-Age learning ‘neighborhoods” in a unique open floor plan campus. Ms. O’Donnell holds near and dear to her heart, that education at its most successful, is built upon the energy, passion and curiosity of students. In support of her innovative and dynamic methodologies, she often quotes David Thornburg, in saying, “We are preparing our students for their future, not our past.” Ms. O’Donnell completed her undergraduate work at City University of New York: Brooklyn College, earned her Master’s in Education from Northern Arizona University’s College of Education and is currently pursuing her Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership.
